Inspiring Pot Figures
This sculptor explores the profound connections between humanity and clay. Their work visually interprets the idea that just as clay is molded by an artist, humans are shaped by their social environment and experiences. The sculptures in this series merge pottery forms with human bodies, using various stances to express human situations, attitudes, and emotions. These pieces focus on the expressive power of the human form, conveyed with minimal detail and without heads.
The Concept
The relationship between man and clay has chemical, cultural, geographical, historical, and religious dimensions. In many beliefs, man was created from soil. In my sculptures, I try to go deeper into these relationships between man and clay. Just as the mud takes shape in the hands of the artist over time, the human being is shaped, formed, and becomes an identity with what exists in his social capital.
These sculptures tell a similar story of man and mud. Each sculpture in this series captures the connections and similarities between a pottery form and a human body and combines them into one form. All the works in this group show the various stances of human beings and thus the situations, attitudes, emotions, and meanings that accompany these stances are exhibited. These sculptures focus on the human body and the expressions it can give with minimum details of the body and the hands without human heads.
